Designing

Product Development

The approved design gets into the stage of development, where keeping in mind the trends, patterns, the technical and aesthetic aspects a sample or prototype is arrived at. This is where fabrics and accessories of each respective products gets chosen and finalised. Our up to date and upgraded design software makes it easy to bring to life the design you have envisioned for your products.

Sample making

Once the 2D sample is approved and agreed upon between our clients and our design team, comes the stage of actually making the sample. This is a key stage where together with our customer we sign off to the finer aspects of the garment before bulk production.

Spinning

One of the most important steps in the manufacturing process is spinning where yarns are produced from textile fibres. Once a man-made process, these days machines aid the spinning process. There are various types of spinning processes, and each process in itself has various stages like blow room, carding. ring frame, winding and more. Our own spinning units are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and we follow stringent quality management in order to provide quality yarns.

Weaving & Knitting

Weaving and knitting are processes of constructing a fabric with yarns. The manufacturing process for knitting and weaving are both different. While weaving interlaces two sets of yarn, knitting connects yarns in loops. Both the processes have differing impact on the properties of the fabric such as its elasticity, durability, stiffness, moisture absorption and more. Like with all textile manufacturing processes, weaving and knitting too can be done using various procedures. At Cotton O Kids we have some of the most sophisticated machineries for knitting and weaving.

Cutting and stitching

The process of cutting is not as simple as it appears and includes spreading the fabric, relaxing, layering and marking it before cutting. The cut fabric then needs to be ordered, numbered and bundled so that it is ready for stitching. While cutting can be done manually or with the use of machines, precise cutting is important to ensure well stitched finished products. Stitching involves sewing and seams that eventually bring together the finished garment. The length, width, depth, tension and sequencing of the stitches are just some factors that determine the quality of stitching. The set up at Cotton O Kids has the ability to provide some of the finest cut and stitched fabrics to meet global standards.

Trimming

Trimming would constitute of all other components of your clothing, including embellishments apart from the core fabric. Trimmings which can be visible or invisible, would include buttons, zippers, labels, liners and other accessories to name a few. Our design team will be able to suggest some of the most elegant trims for your clothing and source them too.
